WORKSHOP re: 2026 Congressionally Directed Spending Requests
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Members of our Congressional delegation (Senator Murray, Senator Cantwell and
Representative Randall) are soliciting requests for 2026 Congressionally Directed Spending
(CDS). CDS requests are for one-time funding of projects prioritized by local governments.
ANALYSIS:
There are varying deadlines for submission of requests:
Senator Murray: 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
Senator Cantwell: 11:59 pm on Sunday, April 6, 2025.
Representative Randall: two weeks prior to the relevant sub-committee's deadline which have
not yet been determined.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Conduct the workshop and decide on which projects/programs Jefferson County should submit to
the members of our Congressional delegation.
