Good morning,
My name is Clayton Slominski and my wife, Margo, and I own a short term rental in Jefferson County. We purchased the residence with the short term goal of having a multigenerational
family cabin and the long-term goal of retiring there. The short term rental process has allowed us to achieve the short term goal while helping offset the cost when it’s not being
used by family. We hope to achieve the long-term goal within the next 10 years.
We use a local property manager, who is on call 24 hours a day seven days a week, a local cleaner for the house, a local landscaper for property, upkeep, and several local tradesmen
to help us with repairs and improvements that we have made over the years. We direct all of our guests to local restaurants and attractions. Our short term rental helps contribute to
the local economy in many positive ways. The experience we have been able to provide our guests also shines a positive light on Jefferson County. Guests have already booked return visits
and I’m encouraged friends to come visit. All of this helps bring additional money to local businesses and tax revenue to the county.
I strongly encourage you to take your time establishing STR rules and regulations in a thoughtful and well planned process that is inclusive of STR owners like myself. I love Jefferson
County and I love being part of this community.
Respectfully,
Clayton Slominski
