HomeMy WebLinkAboutWORKSHOP re Gateway Visitor Center paving JEFFERSON COUNTY
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
REGULAR AGENDA REQUEST
TO: Board of County Commissioners
FROM: Greg Brotherton, County Commissioner
DATE: March 24, 2025
SUBJECT: WORKSHOP re: Initial Options for paving design, Gateway Visitor Center
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Jefferson Transit Authority received a grant to design and develop plans to pave the Gateway
Visitor Center to the end goal of welcoming Clallam Transit's Route 123, the Strait Shot, meet
our JTA Route 14 (Kingston Express) at the Gateway Visitor Center.
ANALYSIS:
Jefferson County, in partnership with Jefferson Transit and Clallam Transit have been working
with SCJ Alliance to develop this plan. The conceptual plans presented here are very early in the
process, and they will narrow down, but they raise larger questions that intersect with Jefferson
Transit's ongoing Operational Analysis. This conversation introduces the options and confirms
agreement on potential paths for this project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Conduct the workshop and possibly provide guidance to staff.
