Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. Greetings Board of County Commissioners + County Administrator McCauley, While I am looking forward to today’s BoCC deliberations on Short Term Rentals, I will need to be joining remotely. In last week’s public hearing, the chambers were unbearably warm, stuffy, and there was no obvious air filtration in the crowded room. Never mind my own health issues, I must also be mindful of public engagement opportunities for our community at large. With a local population that is largely older folks, I would remiss if I didn’t inquire about options for public health precautions and protections within the public space. In talks with others, it is my understanding that this has been an ongoing issue that has yet to be remediated. In my work I ask the public to show up for various meetings at the City and County. The BoCC Chambers are by far the worst I’ve experienced and I hope there’s an opportunity to remedy this for the health and wellbeing of myself and others. I believe in the power of in-person engagement and unfortunately will need to join remotely due to this factor. Thanks so much for taking this issue seriously. I will see you all shortly, online!
