Friday night/ Saturday morning there is an alarm in the men's bathroom (1am)that is not the fire alarm, very high pitched like an emergency door in an auditorium has been left open after the alarm has set or a car door open or seat belt warning sound, loud enough to be heard in the hallway with bathroom door closed. Apparently bathroom toilets may still work but the staff have taped over the men's bathroom and the men are using the women's bathroom I have no idea who has or has not if anyone has been notified. Side bar ; 4:55 am this morning while traveling a one direction hallway towards the women's bathroom moving slowly eyes half open a young woman, young enough by a lot to be my daughter, put the flat of both her hands on my back and shoved me hard, I tripped, forward my right hand went out to the wall in front of me my left shoulder caught the bathroom door, she went through the bathroom room door never said a word. If this were two cars traveling the same direction it would be an intentional rear end collision. If this were football or basketball ball it would be an intentional hands on while traveling foul. She didn't seem to care whether or not there was a man in bathroom, staff have not put signs on door we have just had verba understanding that women's bathroom is now family bathroom. I will note that young woman used to play football in highschool(first woman on the team, I'm so proud!) I have arthritis, fibromyalgia, bad hips, a pirate foot/ ankle from a bad injury in 2000, I had a cane for two years for that. People can be perfectly nice but snap in an instant. Verbal/ physical violence/hostility is a daily occurrence . Who says what people learn in highschool isn't handy enough to shove an elderly disabled person out of the way; a skill people may need in the future with increasing homelessness. 5:30 am; a man is violently continuously heeving into the community sink next to the dining area. Welcome to 209a Monroe st shelter. Have a wonderful day, cheers Maggie
