Every Monday morning I'm at the Jefferson County Commissioners meetings I usually arrive at 830 Heather is there from 9am with lunch break most Mondays then she got afternoon meetings
I ride the bus, if you want to do breakfast / coffee at the co-op I promise I don't bite. I have been going to the commissioner meetings since 2023 and they will attest that I haven't
bitten them once. I may bark once in a while. So pick a Monday or two and we will see if she is available. If you are not an early riser maybe it could be the end of the day. The
only way this works to everyone's benefit the city, the department of Ecology shoreline master plan, the Port of Port Townsend Mission of supporting the maritime economy is to give
over those two docks in front of the Port Townsend Yacht Club to A) environmental justice; shoreline restoration activity for the Dept of Ecology, B) Climate change; shoreline engineering/
mitigation C) seasonal harvest access to indigenous and marginalized communities and populations D) Salish Volunteer Rescue to get this permit from the Port authority we have to
agree to hand over those docks for environmental justice maritime support. I believe these activities fit their rules to a T as they say. Once we have Shoreline use approved, I have
shown the city and the county how to hold and improve the Port Townsend Yacht Club building as a county trust so taxpayers of Jefferson County don't lose. The county money becomes
a county asset, the building gets solar panels the asset goes up in value gains the county and the taxpayer's more money. Grants must be acquired for building maintenance and insurance
but we pay no rent because we have grown the asset by putting on solar panels, we get free electric. The lease for the Port of Port Townsend for the "acre of shoreline land" is 4200.
OO a year, for 50 years 200,000 dollars, the Port can pay the insurance on their land. Anyone have questions? Email Maggie, at pegsfm@gmail.com <mailto:pegsfm@gmail.com> or txt 253-988-3446

Good morning, All -
This is just a note to say that there is a group, including myself, that is interested in exploring the viability of this Urban Rest Stop concept. I will be sending a message later
today to invite folks to a preliminary conversation.
If you’ve already spoken to me, Councilmember Thomas or Ms. Mitchell about your interest - you may already be included. But if you don’t get a message from me later today on this topic
and you’d like to be included, please just shoot me a message and I’ll forward the invitation.
I’d like to be clear that the initial conversation I’m suggesting will not to be tied to any one location yet. I’m interested in starting by identifying the need, exploring potential
options (including locations), and laying out next steps.
Thank you to Ms. Mitchell for spearheading this work! I’m excited to explore it and I think others are too.
Talk soon. -Heather

Peggy,
The Port Authority would have to agree to the use that you are proposing. So I would suggest starting there before doing any detailed planning. As we discussed last year, any tenant
needs to have a use in keeping with the zoning and the master plan for the area.

The Port Townsend interfaith coalition wants to occupy the Port Townsend Yacht Club as early as July possibly June and rent from the Port Townsend Yacht Club until their lease is up
I know it's summer it may not be possible their lease is not up until January we are just asking. The zoning is legal. We need permit for the day center occupancy for 85 is legal the
county and the city have said ok so HELP US get all permits we need, Heather Julia Cochran is asking if we can occupy by June or July, Bill Leland Kees Case Kolff physician former mayor
eco village founder and board member of Jefferson Healthcare will take care of the Port shoreline Variance application so we need to get into the building for a fire safety inspection
as well as insurance inspection. Cheers ❤️ Maggie
