Dear John,
As we prepare for Earth Month in April, we are actively engaged in legal battles and connecting with communities coast to coast. I have been crisscrossing the country, speaking about
our vision for clean energy with a wide range of audiences from the Bioneers conference <https://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=88b5133b153703490340580e19d6f527b46b5e9b442d3c56bd12797945a51db723d8b

SPOTLIGHT: We'll See You in Court (Continued)
Last month, I told you about our first lawsuit – and the first environmental legal challenge <https://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=88b5133b15370349f6a76f2c6742b931ad195c23e517d10524b7461c31367c506
c02a0b45535831992956932bd938661446fdf7c959e107b> – against the current administration.
This month, we announced two new lawsuits. One challenges the so-called Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) illegal mass firings of civil servants <https://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=88
b5133b1537034926a6547c981dcce7e6912ff8f003e740dcab3e52c4a9bac83f010b765c3e4e746eb8d4b9129f72164742507e00002f18> – particularly those at the National Park Service, US Forest Service,
and National Weather Service, who steward our public lands <https://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=88b5133b1537034944c7fe32e12f441d97776d7306f5d1d4d771e64ed9248ecf19aa42c9aed28a055b47aeb7d4aed33085

approval of New York City's highly successful congestion pricing program <https://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=88b5133b15370349214b43b1328ac9f5e6f146101b429432a9911bf69ecc0ef63082c8dd810c4b1ee5a6
5206c126ff4d7e1ebc465f5629b1> .
Our legal work continues to be a powerful tool for protecting our environment and decades of progress by our movement. We will keep fighting. And, like we did hundreds of times in court
against the first Trump administration, we plan to keep winning.

Hundreds of Thousands Say: Halt LNG Expansion
The Department of Energy (DOE) concluded its comment period on the 2024 LNG Export Study <https://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=88b5133b153703492ffa97a5809082907981252c402919043bd41e741c7ce382dbdfb
5d316d3330d84ef9a133f3934302dbe06298f585fee> . These studies make it crystal clear that LNG exports raise consumer costs, pollute the air and water, harm communities, and perpetuate
the climate crisis. Veterans, economic experts, more than 150 frontline and national organizations, members of Congress, and more than 156,000 Americans submitted comments telling the
Trump Administration that LNG exports are not in the public interest. The facts are on our side, and we will do everything we can to stop the expansion of LNG exports for the best interest
of the American people.
Chapter Highlights:
* After weeks of engagement from Sierra Club and partners, and growing opposition from Kentuckians across the political spectrum, Governor Andy Beshear vetoed a state bill <https://click.emails.sierr

groundwater, streams, and wetlands. Cultural and community voices spoke out against the bill, including Louisville-based band Bendigo Fletcher, whose new single is an ode to water <https://click.ema

state legislature to do the same, listen to their constituents, and let the veto stand.
* The Sierra Club helped successfully negotiate a legal settlement <https://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=88b5133b1537034949bf9c6e04a9a5d08bfb9044517c7ef1629304219d5cf0757aeeae9c1522f7f36f252b84aa8

far beyond the average for the region’s coal plants. I also had an opinion piece published <https://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=88b5133b153703490ceca1bc8d64b4e9c9f6efef7f3080607c68a4c1488321783b
