Subject: Likely Port Townsend/Coupeville Service Disruption
Senators Muzzall and Chapman, Representatives Bernbaum, Tharinger, Paul, and Shavers, Commissioners Dudley-Nollette, Eisenhour, and Brotherson, Mayors Faber and Hughes, and Port Townsend
and Coupeville Councilmembers,
Good afternoon.
Despite the best efforts of our incredible Dispatch team, we have been unable to fill a relief request on the Kennewick, currently the only vessel operating on the Port Townsend/Coupeville
route. While those efforts will continue, it’s likely the vessel will go out of service for its last two roundtrips from Port Townsend at 6.45pm and 8.30pm.
There are still three roundtrips – 2pm, 3.30pm, and 5.15pm – we’re alerting the public through passenger alerts, hoping to connect with everyone who was planning to travel on the last
two sailings. We’re also blocking new reservations and relaxing rules so drivers with reservations can travel on earlier sailings.
We apologize for this inconvenience. Please let me know if you have any questions.
John
