Given the near-certainty that no funding from either the state or the federal governments is likely to be seen by the county for the purposes of designing a new pool facility in Port
Hadlock (or anywhere else, for that matter), it's time to revisit the proposals that were sent to the City of Port Townsend to refurbish and expand the existing pool at Mountain View.
You received an email from Mark Grant grantsteelbuildings@gmail.com on Monday, March 10, 2025,
Subject: Re: Taxes and budget issues related to the PFD formation, new pool, and Upper Hoh Road repair
in which Mr. Grant included a spreadsheet that showed how the life of the existing pool could be extended by several decades for less than $8 million; i.e., far less than any other alternative
and within the ability to of Port Townsend to fund on its own.
I recommend that you review the information he provided and then reengage with city officials with that in mind.
