Dear Commissioners,
First, I want you to all know that I do appreciate the hard work you do, your commitment to helping guide the county and the time obligation required from each of you individually to
perform your duties. I’ve no delusions that it’s an easy or an enviable position at times. Perhaps especially now given all the challenges our newly elected leadership is presenting
both State and Federal.
That said it is my hopes that you will entertain my personal request to meet individually with each of you to discuss specifically South County/District 3 issues. Among the topics I
would like to review are:
· The South County Task Force project – we are working on solutions and mitigation of the potential flood hazards facing specifically Brinnon and the impact it could have on Economic
Development in South County.
· The Pleasant Harbor Resort Project – and my growing concerns that it isn’t heading for a good outcome right now.
· The permitting challenges the county has and the impact it has on economic development. Also, the clear need for a new, modern septic system solution.
· The Housing Crisis and a need to focus on solutions to providing affordable work-force housing.
· The upcoming 2025 Comprehensive Plan – aspirations vs execution
· Fireworks in the County, specifically Quilcene and Brinnon
Perhaps this list is long and daunting. I’m not looking to get into the weeds about solutions. I would like to know your position on these topics. It is my hopes by providing the list
above it will give you time to consider your responses.
Please note I’ve also cc’d PC Chair Hull and DCD Dept. Head Peters on this email as I feel it’s important in all my community roles that I strive to maintain both transparency and integrity.
I am heading to Portland later this week for a trade show. Back next week and certainly understand it may take time to find mutually agreeable times to meet. I always prefer face-to-face,
if possible, but happy to arrange a phone/zoom/teams call if that’s easier. I am also happy to come to PT to meet.
Thank you in advance for considering my request and I look forward to hearing from each of you individually.
Warm Regards,
Andrew
