Commissioners,
My objection to claiming that 61.5% of the respondents of the survey support a sales tax hike to build a pool is based on the improperly weighted data in relation to the opinions of
the county’s residents.
The entire point of the survey was to determine public support and the likelihood of passing a ballot measure.
When you cannot pass the PFD ballot measure, how will you fund the pool construction? JAC has only raised $100K, which is not even close to demonstrating the ability to get this job
done.
When you do near zero outreach to the entire county, whose votes will be counted, and you only target the opinions of your base supporters for their feedback…. The results of this warped
survey mislead you into thinking you can pass the funding mechanism.
Just look at where the voters are in relation to the survey results. It should be very clear to you that, on a countywide ballot, these voters will not pass this tax.
It would be nice to see the unvarnished data. Although, I’ve been hearing from numerous people who say they submitted multiple responses so even that will be warped.
