This month, we invite you to explore Origins: The Last Reefnetters, a powerful new docuseries highlighting reefnet fishing—a fishing method developed by the Lummi Nation and other Northern Straits Salish Tribes, that is still practiced by a few dedicated fishers today. You'll also meet Captain Katrina Anderson, a Tacoma-based tugboat captain who shares what it takes to safely guide massive ships to shore. Looking ahead, don’t miss the Goldfinch Gala aboard the historic ferry Hiyu—an evening of celebration and support for programs of the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation like Washington Main Street, Youth Heritage Project, and of course, Maritime Washington.
