Monday Matters Wenatchee Charges Battery WSF hit an exciting milestone last week on our journey toward 26 vessels by 2040. We successfully charged one of the two battery rooms aboard the Wenatchee for the first time. This shows that the hybrid-electric system and key equipment like the energy storage system switchboard and the charging transformer are working. Vigor is now getting ready for dock and sea trials in the coming weeks. When the shipyard returns Wenatchee to us, we’ll start our own test and crew training for a few more weeks before it returns to service. In addition to switching Wenatchee to hybrid-electric power we also upgraded old propulsion systems, improved ship controls and reworked piping and wiring. These updates will help provide more service this summer and extend the vessel’s life by decades. Customer Service For the week of April 21 - 27 – As the busy summer sailing season approaches, our customer service team has been working hard to keep customers informed, responding to a growing number of calls and emails. Our customer service team sent 115 rider alerts, received 4,017 customer calls, and fielded more than 280 written comments and emails related to reservations, schedules, and fares. Service Reliability For the week of Apr. 21 - 27 – We completed 99.2% of our 2,763 scheduled sailings. Of the 23 cancellations, 35% (8) were due to crewing, 26% (6) were due to tidal currents, 17% (4) were due to schedule resets (when a boat is so far behind schedule, we cancel a sailing to get it back on schedule, providing predictability for customers), 17% (4) were due to terminal-related issues, and 4% (1) were due to vessel-related issues. Hybrid Conversions/New Vessels/Terminal Electrification Hybrid Conversions –Upgrades to the Wenatchee propulsion system and installation of electric power equipment is moving toward a summer return to service. There is still work to inspect and commission the vessel’s systems at the shipyard before WSF takes possession of the vessel. After WSF takes possession, weeks of work will begin to train the crew, ready the vessel for service, and obtain US Coast Guard re-certification. New Vessels – The contracting process for new hybrid-electric 160-auto ferries continues. The engineers’ estimate, a cost assessment created by independent experts on contract to WSF, is complete. The engineers’ estimate will be compared to contractor bids to inform funding and contracting decisions. Bids are scheduled to be opened on May 12th. Terminal Electrification – Vessel charging system proposals are under review with award expected this month. The Bainbridge Island Terminal Electrification Project will drill into the ground to collect soil samples in the SR305 corridor from April 21 to May 1. Results will inform the project design, which includes a conduit along SR305 necessary to make power available at the terminal to charge hybrid-electric ferries. The project is in phase 2 design with a plan to advertise for construction contractors in July 2026. 54=0;55=0;56=0;66=0;69=0;70=0;71=0;72=0;73=0;74=0;75=0;76=0;77=0;78=0;79=0;80=0;81=0;82=0;83=0;84=0;85=0;86=0;87=0;88=0;89=0;90=0;91=0;92=0;93=0;94=0;95=0;96=0;97=0;98=0;99=0;100=0;101=0;102=0;103=0; 104=0;105=0;106=0;107=0;108=0;109=0;110=0;111=0;112=0;113=0;114=0;115=0;116=0;117=0;118=0;119=0;120=0;121=0;122=0;123=0;124=0;125=0;126=0;127=0;128=0;129=0;130=0;131=0;132=0;133=0;134=0;135=0;136=0;1 37=0;138=0;139=0;140=0;141=0;142=0;143=0;144=0;145=0;146=0;147=0;148=0;149=0;150=0;151=0;152=0;153=0;154=0;155=0;156=0;157=0;158=0;193=1;194=1;195=2025;196=4;197=7;198=0;199=0;200=0;201=4079;202=0.05 ;203=0.02;204=0;205=0.18;206=0.01;207=0.98;208=0;209=0;210=0.06;211=0.01;212=241;213=0.14;214=0.01;215=2.11;216=0.03;217=0.47;218=0.13;219=0;220=0;221=0;222=0;223=0;224=0.02;225=0.67;226=0.3;227=0.61 ;228=0;229=0;230=0;231=0;232=0.02;233=0;234=0.03;235=0.01;236=0;237=0;238=0;239=0.02;240=0;241=0;242=0;243=0;244=0;245=0;246=0.24;247=0.49;248=0.04;249=0.36;250=0;251=0;252=27;253=1;254=0;255=4.85;25 6=0;257=0.44;258=0.04;259=0;260=0;261=0;262=0;263=0;264=0;265=0.07;266=0.93;267=0;268=0;269=0;270=0;271=0;272=0;273=0;274=0;275=0.04;276=0;277=0;278=0;279=0.04;280=0;281=0;282=0;283=0;284=0;285=0;286 =0.07;287=0.12;288=0;289=0.26;290=0;291=0;292=0;293=0;294=3905;295=3.59;296=335;297=2.53;298=0.01;299=0.02;300=0.05;301=0.01;302=0.86;303=0.44;304=0;305=0;306=0.02;307=0.18;308=0;309=0;310=0.01;311=0 ;312=0;313=0;314=0;315=0;316=0;317=0;318=0.05;319=0.98;320=0.02;321=0.18;322=0.01;323=0;324=0;325=0;326=0.06;327=0.01;328=2.27;329=1.62;330=3.53;331=3.24;332=0;333=0;334=1.86;335=2.84;336=0;337=0;338 =1.46;339=0;340=0;341=0;342=0;343=0;344=0;345=0;346=2.33;347=3.58;348=1.86;349=2.84;350=1.46;351=0;352=0;353=0;354=2.4;355=1.46;356=0;357=0;358=0;359=0
