Heads up boaters: Draw span restrictions planned at SR 104 Hood Canal Bridge
SHINE – Boaters are advised to plan for restrictions to draw span openings at the State Route 104 Hood Canal Bridge.
Bridge maintenance
From 7 a.m. Monday, June 9 until 5 p.m. Friday, June 13, the bridge draw span will close to all boat traffic. During this time, requests to open the draw span will be denied. Watercraft
that can fit will still be allowed to pass underneath elevated areas of the bridge. The boat traffic closure is required to perform bridge maintenance.
Motor vehicle traffic across the bridge is not affected by this work.
Seasonal restrictions
Pleasure craft operators should also plan for seasonal afternoon restrictions at the bridge. From May 22 to Sept. 30 each year, regulations prohibit pleasure craft operators from requesting
a draw span opening from 3 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. each day.
The seasonal restrictions do not apply to commercial or Department of Defense vessels.

This restriction applies year round.
Hood Canal Bridge vertical clearance for vessels
* West truss in Jefferson County - 31 feet
* East truss in Kitsap County - 50 feet
