our energy security, and the world’s.
They urged the restoration of environmental regulations including the clean vehicle standards, and the continuation of the climate investments in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and
Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). These laws fight the climate crisis as they reduce our carbon footprint, create jobs, lift up environmental justice communities, and are critical
to national energy security.
They also disproved the administration’s assertion that fossil fuels are better for energy security. Dirty fossil fuel-based energy fuels the climate crisis and thereby creates more
threats to global security. The military knows the climate crisis is a threat multiplier.

danger in his first term. An increase in fossil fuel production threatens infrastructure, health, water, and food supplies at home and globally. The IRA and BIL have already strengthened

The IRA and BIL, congressionally passed laws, represent the federal government’s biggest climate investments in history and have created 900 new factories across America, representing
400,000 jobs.

“Until January 20, 2025, for the first-time communities that had been left out of the American Dream were experiencing economic and environmental justice opportunities with the Inflation
Reduction Act investments and provisions—for it’s a true climate justice law. That law, others, and environmental regulations are now under siege by an administration that thinks what
the president wants can magically become the law of the land. That’s not how our Constitution works. For we are a nation of people with liberty and justice for all. We have due process

gigawatts of electric capacity to the grid had been developed by manufacturers in the USA.

States in the West and Southwest are at ground zero in the climate crisis that are suffering from water insecurity, deadly heatwaves and fires that threaten the lives and livelihoods
of millions, especially in communities that have been underserved and over polluted.
Direct vehicle emissions amount to at least 25 percent of the greenhouse gas that fuels the climate crisis. That’s why the IRA has a point-of-sale incentive savings of $7,500 for a new

The Inflation Reduction Act offers significant rebates for consumer clean energy technologies, such as solar panels, electric vehicles, heat pumps, and energy-efficient appliances. The
Office of Economic Policy showed more than 41,000 Nevada families benefited from more than $151 million in IRA tax credits to lower the costs of clean energy and energy efficiency upgrades
to their homes during 2023.

Just after the Inauguration the new president issued an executive order (EO) that abruptly stopped investments in climate crisis measures. While some programs have been restored all
funding streams for environmental justice communities have not. By mid-March the EPA laid out a roadmap of 31 steps it would take, targeting issues including climate crisis related
regulation, power plant and greenhouse gas reporting requirements, and support for electric vehicles.

Some 1.1 billion people worldwide lack access to water, and a total of 2.7 billion find water scarce for at least one month of the year. The climate crisis is making that reality worse
as droughts exacerbate divisions and lead to conflict.
