SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
December 17, 2024 - 1:00 p.m.

Call to Order and Introductions: Chair Gary Lane called the meeting to order at the appointed time. Members
Voelker, Itterly, Braccio, and Hamilton were present, and introduced themselves
Public Comment Period: Chair Lane called for public comments, and one comment was received.
Election of Officers for 2025: After discussion, Chair Lane moved to nominate Member Hamilton for
President. Member Voelker seconded the motion. Chair Lane opened the floor for public comments, and no
comments were received. Chair Lane called for a vote on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote.
Member Hamilton moved to elect Member Lane for Vice-President. Member Voelker seconded the motion.
Chair Lane opened the floor for public comments, and no comments were received. Chair Lane called for a vote
on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote.
Member Braccio moved to appoint himself as Secretary/Treasurer. Member Hamilton seconded the motion.
Chair Lane opened the floor for public comments, and no comments were received. Chair Lane called for a vote
on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote.
Appeals Board Appointment: Member Hamilton moved to appoint himself to serve on the Appeals Board.
Member Voelker seconded the motion. Member Braccio moved to appoint himself to serve on the Appeals
Board. Member Voelker seconded the motion. Chair Lane opened the floor for public comments, and no
comments were received. Chair Lane called for a vote on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote.
DISCUSSION re: Status Report on the Veteran's Relief Fund: After discussion Member Hamilton moved
to increase the single Veteran food and necessities' amount to$200, and to increase the benefit for married
Veterans to $250. Member Voelker seconded the motion. Chair Lane opened the floor for public comments and
no comments received. Chair Lane called for a vote on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote.
DISCUSSION re: Update the Veterans Advisory Board (VAB)ByLaws: After discussion Member
Hamilton moved to recommend to JCVSOA to change the current quorum of five members to a quorum of one
more than half(3)members. Member Braccio seconded the motion. Chair Lane opened the floor for public
comments, and no comments were received. Chair Lane called for a vote on the motion. The motion carried by
a unanimous vote.
DISCUSSION re: Update the Veteran's Relief Fund Policy: This was discussed with the Veteran's Relief
Fund status report.
Future Agenda Items:
• Member Itterly will do a survey for the need of assistance on the West End of Jefferson County
Chair Lane opened the floor for public comments, and one comment was received.
• Donation of funds to the Veterans Assistance Fund
• County list of local Veterans in the area
MEETING ADJOURNED: Chair Lane adjourned the meeting at 1:48 p.m. until the next regular meeting or
special meeting as properly noticed.
