HomeMy WebLinkAbout070610_ca05 Consent Agenda June 21, 2010 JEFFERSON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST TO: Board of County Commissioners Phlllp Morley, County Administrator FROM: Jean Baldwin, Director DATE: July 5, 2010 SUBJECT: Agenda Item - Consolidated Contract, Amendment #24 with the Department of Health; January 1, 2007 - December 31, 2011; add1 $31,292 total $2,386,355 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Jefferson County Public Health Is requesting Board approval of the Consolidated Contract, Amendment #24 with the Department of Health; January 1, 2007 - December 31, 2011; add1 $31,292 total $2,386,355 ANALYSIS/STRATEGIC GOALS/PRO'S and CON'S: This agreement with the Department of Health Is a 5 year agreement containing both State & Federal Funds. This amendment adds $31,292 to the existing contract. The affected programs are as follows: . $12,644; Family Planning (FPRH); January 2010 - December 2010 FPRH revenue will continue to support community education/health promotion, provide for staff training on family planning, and prOVide prescriptive contraception . $500; Drinklng Water Group A; January 2007 - December 2010 Revenue will continue to fund sanitary surveys to small community and non-communlty Group A water systems. JCPH will evaluate water systems for physical and operational deficiencies. . -$500;Tobacco Prevention & Control Program; July 2009 - June 201 State funds are reduced by $4,590 and Federal funds increased by $4,090 The Tobacco Prevention Program will continue outreach to raise awareness, work with community members to motivate them to address tobacco prevention and control, staff will promote cessation and the WA Quit Une, educate businesses about the Smoklng In Public Places Law and access the number and type of smoke-free policies in the community and developing policy or affecting change where needed, . $18,648; WIC Nutrition Program -January 2007 - December 2010; This revenue represents additional Federal dollars for the continuation of health services, nutrition eduCation, administration, and breastfeedlng promotions activities Consent Agenda fiSCAL IMPACT/COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS: This amendment through the Department of Health adds $31,292 in revenue for a total of $2,386,355. ~ECOMMENDATION: JCPH management request approval of the Consolidated Contract, Amendment #24 with the Department of Health; January 1, 2007 - December 31, 2011; add1 $31,292 total $2,386,355 ~/30//D Date (Routed to all Public Health Managers)
