Here’s six moments you might have missed: * Marathon Natural Resources Committee Markup: Started the week in a 13-hour-long markup in the Natural Resources Committee, offered 5 amendments to protect our federal lands and programs that support them, as we fought back against efforts to sell our public lands to the highest bidder. * Attended a DOGE Subcommittee Hearing on…not DOGE: Was this hearing to address government efficiency or how to bring down costs for the American people? Nope. Did we get to subpoena Elon Musk to answer for the actions he is taking at DOGE? Nope. Instead, House Republicans on the DOGE Subcommittee used their first subpoena of this Congress to bring in the Chairman of the Board of USA Fencing to hold a hearing on trans people in sports. This was a waste of taxpayer money and a sad excuse to bully young people. The American people deserve better. Watch my full remarks here. <https://iqconnect.house.gov/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?&cid=WA06ER&crop=14451.5384319.5122775.7318396&report_id=&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fyoutu.be%2fKRlN4vGaspE%3fsi%3d5GU K3B8VvJPmNqXP&redir_log=490887346599315> * Expanding Midwifery Access for Service Members and their Families: Earlier this week, on International Day of the Midwife, I joined Rep. Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) in reintroducing the Maternal and Infant Delivery: Wellness, and Integration with Vital Expertise Support (MIDWIVES) for Servicemembers Act, alongside Reps. Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06) and Jen Kiggans (VA-02). The bill would increase access to maternity care for service members and their families by extending midwifery care to those enrolled in TRICARE through a 5-year pilot program. This legislation expands access to midwifery care and gives the Department of Defense the option to permanently expand coverage if the pilot program is successful. This is one of the last steps of the Elwha and Glines Canyon Dam removal project and will help restore fisheries. This is part of our constitutional responsibility to protect Tribal Lands and the people who call them home. I also highlighted the great work our partners are doing in an Oversight hearing on housing policy and advocated against cuts to critical federal programs that support their work. * Celebrated the Congressional Art Competition Artists: Was thrilled to honor the incredible talents of the students from our community who contributed artwork to our first Congressional Art Competition! We closed out the week with a lovely ceremony at the Tacoma Office for students, their families, and teachers. Cannot wait to see this artwork hanging in the Capitol! IN THE NEWS: While I was in the district for our district work period, I was able to sit down with a few of our local news outlets to talk about my first 100 days in office. Tacoma’s local NPR station, KNKX, hosted me in their studio <https://iqconnect.house.gov/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?&cid=WA06ER&crop=14451.5384319.5122775.7318396&report_id=&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fwww.knkx.o rg%2fpolitics%2f2025-04-28%2femily-randall-house-6th-district-congress-pierce-kitsap-federal-workers-elon-musk-budget-cuts-oversight-natural-resources&redir_log=004605253811140> , and I was also able to speak to the Port Townsend Leader <https://iqconnect.house.gov/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?&cid=WA06ER&crop=14451.5384319.5122775.7318396&report_id=&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fwww.ptle ader.com%2fstories%2fa-constitutional-crisis-randall-reflects-on-100-days-in-office%2c206506%3f&redir_log=687337876369686> about our current constitutional crisis as well as the Peninsula Daily News. <https://iqconnect.house.gov/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?&cid=WA06ER&crop=14451.5384319.5122775.7318396&report_id=&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fwww.peninsuladailynews.com%2fnews%2frandall-refle cts-on-first-100-days%2f&redir_log=284454363077514> LET’S GET SOCIAL: If you would like to stay up to date with my work on behalf of Washington’s 6th Congressional District, please connect with me on Instagram <https://iqconnect.house.gov/iqextranet/i qClickTrk.aspx?&cid=WA06ER&crop=14451.5384319.5122775.7318396&report_id=&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fwww.instagram.com%2frepemilyrandall%2f&redir_log=373512520071299> , Facebook <https://iqconnect.house.g ov/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?&cid=WA06ER&crop=14451.5384319.5122775.7318396&report_id=&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fwww.facebook.com%2fRepEmilyRandall&redir_log=018550625996283> , YouTube <https://iqconnect.house.gov/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?&cid=WA06ER&crop=14451.5384319.5122775.7318396&report_id=&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fwww.youtube.com%2f%40CongresswomanEmilyRandall&redir_log=6091 18678022358> , and Bluesky. <https://iqconnect.house.gov/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?&cid=WA06ER&crop=14451.5384319.5122775.7318396&report_id=&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fbsky.app%2fprofile%2frepemilyranda ll.bsky.social&redir_log=587809271368371> Talk to you soon, Emily Washington DC Office 1531 Longworth HOB Washington, DC 20515 Phone: (202) 225-5916 Bremerton District Office 345 6th Street Suite 500 Bremerton, WA Phone:(360) 373-9725 Tacoma District Office 1102 A Street Suite 326 Tacoma, WA Phone:(253) 272-3515 Unsubscribe <https://iqconnect.house.gov/iqextranet/EsurveyForm.aspx?__cid=WA06ER&__sid=100000&__crop=14451.5384319.5122775.7318396> <https://iqconnect.house.gov/iqextranet/Customers/WA06ER/iqtrk.gif?crop=14451.5384319.5122775.7318396> <https://iqconnect.house.gov/iqextranet/Customers/WA06ER/iqtrk.gif?crop=14451.5384319.5122775. 7318396> og=609118678022358","url/urlTextSpan":{"beginIndex":10308,"length":7},"@EntityId":"99713795-430b-4fac-99d4-2628d972db44","@extractionTimeUtc":"2025-05-12T01:14:54.7081552\u002B00:00"},{"url":"https:/ /iqconnect.house.gov/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?\u0026cid=WA06ER\u0026crop=14451.5384319.5122775.7318396\u0026report_id=\u0026redirect=https%3a%2f%2fbsky.app%2fprofile%2frepemilyrandall.bsky.social\u 0026redir_log=587809271368371","url/urlTextSpan":{"beginIndex":10597,"length":8},"@EntityId":"5c1564fd-84cd-40a7-8c2e-998aae63dce1","@extractionTimeUtc":"2025-05-12T01:14:54.7081589\u002B00:00"},{"ur l":"https://iqconnect.house.gov/iqextranet/EsurveyForm.aspx?__cid=WA06ER\u0026__sid=100000\u0026__crop=14451.5384319.5122775.7318396","url/urlTextSpan":{"beginIndex":12578,"length":11},"@EntityId":"3 3455e06-bae9-4bfc-9b52-b6a4d471218a","@extractionTimeUtc":"2025-05-12T01:14:54.7081621\u002B00:00"}]
