Fellow FAC members,
Commissioner Heather Dudley-Nollette attended our March 14 meeting and participated as a "member of the public".
Her contributions were helpful and I believe that we need to provide opportunities for increased participation whenever a member of our appointing authority joins our meetings.
I am proposing that we designate whichever member of the Board of County Commissioners attends any of our FAC meetings as an "Advisory Member".
An Advisory Member* is a non-voting member, and cannot make motions, but is fully empowered to participate and contribute to all discussions and debate on an equal basis with other FAC
members.
* Note: This type of position is often misnamed "ex officio", but that would be technically incorrect.
I will place this proposal on the agenda for our next regular meeting (July 9), so please consider whether or not you would support it so that we can take action on it at that time.
Please, no conversations or replies at this time (OPMA!) -- I'm just giving you advance notice of my intent.
If there are ever any items that any of you would like added to an agenda, please let me know.
