Today I am writing to you in reference to the upcoming July 4th fireworks. I
have witten a letter in the past to no avail. I am pleading with you to
acknowledge the damage, the lives lost and the fear that is placed in the
lives of our surrounding wildlife. As you know birds do not fly at night as
they cannot see at night. Loud and bright explosions take them from what
they feel a safe place to the possible blind flying into a fence, another
house, another tree or big limb and lets not forget busted ear drums and
inevitably to their death. How about the raccoons and the possums
around. Just take a guess at what they are feeling. Our dogs shake fiercely
and try to hide about us in the house. I have friends that go to the vet for
tranquilizers for their pets. It is time to change and put a stop to these
fireworks. Fireworks are not allowed in Port Townsend and should not be
allowed in Hadlock or Chimacum. I have had a young spunky, cocky,
sheriffs deputy give me a lecture on how I BETTER start respecting peoples
rights to fireworks. Guess what....how about my rights...most of all...how
about the animals rights! You have the power to stop these fireworks.
There are so many illegal fireworks set off out in this area and our
illustrious sheriffs dept. ignore it. Please no ridiculous words like
incorporated...unincorporated...and any other frivilous words for you to
hide behind so you dont have to take action.
Aggravated Animal Cruelty is when one tortures, maims, or mutilatess,
tampers with livestock, or causes or procures another to do so. This carries
a fine of$5000 to $25000 and/or imprisoned for 1 to 10 years. With your
title you believe you are immune from anything. As does this picture of the
Yakima sheriff I have sent you. He and his deputys massacred 64 roosters
even when there were homes built for them and volunteers willing to take
them to live out the rest of their lives...They massacred them with loud
shotguns allowing live ones to listen and watch! You know all animals
have feeling....what were the live ones thinking. Look at Sheriff Robert
Udell...Wow Is he in the game or what...By the way you cant quite see but
he has his six gun strapped to his leg. His motto....The mission of the
Yakima County Sheriffs Office is to Enhance Public Safety, with Integrity and
Professionalism. Title and uniform does not make you untouchable. You

can stop this useless killing of animals and creating the fear and stress in
others. You can also stop the illegal fireworks...Get your sheriffs dept. to
grow some I would like to hear your response....but would prefer
you spend your time banning fireworks to include all illegal fireworks in
Hadlock, Chimacum all the county would be great be well.
