Subject: Change Order No. 8, Phase 2 - Water Reclamation Plant for the
Port Hadlock UGA, Project No. 405-2114-0, Commerce Project No.
22-96515-026
Statement of Issue: Change Order No. 8 with Interwest Construction of Burlington,
Washington.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's Et Con's: This change order modifies the original plan
in the following ways: 1) Plumbing changes in Admin and Chemical Buildings; and 2)
electrical vault risers to bring vault lids to revised pavement grade; 3) additional seed
sludge volume needed to "prime" the wastewater treatment plant for system start
up.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: The amount for Change Order No. 8 is
$27,465.54 (includes 9.2% Washington State Sales Tax). The contract amount will
increase from $ $10,477,011.02 to $10,504,476.56. The project is funded at 100% by
the Department of Commerce.
Recommendation: Public Works recommends that the Board authorize Change Order
No. 8 with Interwest Construction, and return two originals to Public Works for further
processing.
