US 101 opens to traffic at Tumwater Creek in Port Angeles
PORT ANGELES – Good news for travelers on US 101 in Port Angeles: the highway between Tumwater Truck Route (State Route 117) and South Pine Street Cutoff is now open to traffic.
US 101 reopened at 9:50 p.m., Thursday, May 22. Travelers have had to use a detour since Monday, March 3, when the roadway closed to all traffic around the clock. During the 80-day closure,

What’s next
Travelers can expect daytime one-way alternating traffic on weekdays at Tumwater Creek as construction continues. Crews will excavate beneath the new bridge and prepare for the in-water
work, which will take place this summer. Overall construction at Tumwater Creek is expected to wrap up this fall.
