EOPA hopes you are celebrating Juneteenth!
It took our nation a long time to recognize today as the Freedom Day it is for us, our fellow neighbors, friends and patriots. Progress takes time.
Our Declaration of Independence needed the Constitution and amendments to put us on the true road for liberty and justice for all. We had to call upon our better angels and fight the
Civil War to ensure today happened. We had to have the empathy, dedication and determination to not waver from our nation’s moral compass to pass Civil Rights legislation.
While we’ve taken strides forward since our nation achieved independence and established our democracy, we still need to stand up to protect the rights we won along that journey.
The promise of the American Dream of true liberty and justice for all may feel elusive at times but that’s when we need to remember our progress.
EOPA is dedicated to our democracy and ensuring our nation realizes equality for all.
Celebrate Juneteenth with us and remember.
