Dear Commissioners,
I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Sherrie Jarrard, and I am writing on behalf of the East Jefferson Rivals Youth Cheer Program to respectfully request funding support of
$2,500 from Jefferson County for the 2025 program year that begins in just a few weeks.
East Jefferson Rivals Youth Cheer is a volunteer-run program that proudly serves young athletes ages 4 to 13 from across Jefferson County. Our mission is to build confidence, teamwork,
physical fitness, and community spirit through youth cheerleading, while offering an inclusive and supportive environment for all participants.
We believe strongly that every child deserves the opportunity to participate in youth sports, regardless of financial circumstances. That’s why we are committed to offering scholarships
to families who need them. In 2024 alone, we were able to award a handful of full and partial scholarships—something we hope to expand upon in the coming year as more of our cheer families
are needing financial support.
With your support, we can continue to grow this program and make it accessible to more local youth. Funding would help us cover the cost of uniforms, equipment, facility rentals, and
so much more, while ensuring we can continue to provide scholarships to families experiencing financial hardship.
As a program that reaches across our rural community, bringing together children from Chimacum, Port Townsend, Quilcene, and beyond, we see firsthand the positive impact this kind of
connection and teamwork can have on a child’s development. Your investment would directly support the physical and emotional well-being of our county’s youth, while strengthening community
pride. We would be honored to partner with Jefferson County in supporting this valuable program, and I would be happy to provide additional details, budgets, or testimonials from families
and participants upon request.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Warm regards,
Sherrie Jarrard
