Special Note: if you can not open any of the linked items, email Julia willowtree@olypen.com  Status of Contract: County Signed - addendum to keep shelter open until 12/31, and then month to month till 6/30/26. Bayside has asked for 30 days notice if AL wants the shelter to close. Now waiting for the American Legion to sign the contract.  Shelter filled to capacity, need meals, Bayside - volunteer section - sign up sheet for a day. Feel free to call shelter. 1 member of team has a food handlers card - if not shelter staff will assist. People can show up at 4 to cook, or bring meals at 5:30.  No one signed up for July yet to bring meals - much needed. Trevor can order food if pre-arranged with Trevor.  Bayside is also looking for volunteer drivers to bring food from Bayside to the shelter.  Reach out to Trevor at (360) 745-8299 0r (360) 385-1403  Link to view Bayside Shelter Rules  JC Mash Clinic is not just from Bayside Residents. It is open for everyone.  M T W hours. At Woodley Place. Link to JC Mash Clinic Flier - 2 pages.  Shelter - has air conditioner, hepa filters, water bottles, on call for extreme weather - staying open, will apply for extra funding from Health Dept. They will also be open for more people. Trevor will talk to Bob at AL about details.  Bayside gets frequently called with family scenarios. Bayside is not set up for families. We need to realize we are running into single parent with children, and couples with a kid. Bayside reaches out to partners like Dove House and Olycap who are also unable to serve these people. (If people are under 24 they can reach out to OWL 360) Haines Street cottages. One cabin will be offline - because it would cost $20,000 to make it habitable. It will get boarded up. After Caswell Brown Olycap will look at what makes sense for the Haines St. site.  Caswell Brown 2 - sanitation building under construction. PUD building - nests of bees. Plumbers rescheduled, also waiting for a permit.   Caswelll Brown 3 - last two shelters being delivered. Waiting for permit - then can do electrical hook up. Congregant Shelter - deleted office administration building to retain quality of congregant building. Doing the engineering docs, 5 week process, permit, commerce approval. Modular construction will be quick. October or December.  Peggy will bring the question about heat, smoke emergency.  Cooling / Clean Air Centers: Lara Gaasland-Tatro - Health Dept. slide show. Heat related illnesses show in increased emergency rooms visits. South County - 10-15 degrees hotter than PT.  Working with Community centers to extend hours in Brinnon, Quilcene, and Tri Area Jeffco Library, PT Library, The Recovery Cafe, The Nest, PT Rec Center and Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.  Also homes with friends and family with air conditioners.  Health dep provides portable Air CLeaners and filters. Portable Air conditioners. Bottled water, shelf stable snacks,  Air Quality Flags Mobile air quality devices Where can folks who are unhoused can go? AL Shelter can extend hours, so will the Recovery Cafe. PT Rec Center for folks with kids.  Health dept. Has some staff available for extreme events.  Health Dept. needs people like us to encourage people to access these services when needed. Everyone needs to find a way to have safer air to breathe and to remain cool. Cooling Clean Air Center slides Heat and Wildfire Safety Brochure Julia went on a small rant about Laundry Vouchers. Cost too much, No checks and balances. Winter Welcoming Center can not engage with this again. Apple - funds getting cut. Rules for Bayside – shelter - background checks can be done at shelter due to AL requirements. Current rules - will be attached.   BOCC workshop - July 7th - on Urban Rest Stop and Opiod funds!  July 8th Meeting cancelled Next Meeting July 22, 11:15.
