Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. Hi Commissioner Brotherton, I hope this message finds you well. My name is Alex Frick, and I’m currently working on a story about Jefferson County’s housing crisis—both as part of my capstone project for my bachelor's degree and may be part of a series of stories for The PT and JC Leader newspaper. I would really value an opportunity to talk to you about this from your perspective, if your schedule allows it. I've been conducting research and having conversations with housing advocates and experts and I am learning that many residents experiencing housing insecurity aren’t showing up in traditional shelter data. Instead, they’re living in vehicles, RVs, or overcrowded and informal arrangements—especially seniors, low-wage workers, and people on fixed incomes.I believe these figures are growing and are potentially undercounted and underrepresented and I would like to understand better about how the county and OlyCap are approaching and responding, or what efforts are already being made. Given your positions with both OlyCap and the county, your insight would be undoubtedly meaningful and I believe could help make an impact. Please let me know if there are any convenient times that we may be able to connect in the near future. I appreciate all you do. Thank you for your time and attention. Kind Regards, Alex Frick (727) 244-3795 University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications
