Hello Ms. Eisenhour,
I attended the Community Conversations gathering the other evening in Port Ludlow.
I was so relieved to hear you mention, towards the end of the presentation, that you are involved in discussions pertaining to our recycling situation. I am very interested in hearing
that there is hope for glass recycling to return to our county. And, that there is a way to keep the other recyclable materials collection bins available, as well.
On the matter of the transfer station, I find the new fees for both garbage and yard waste very difficult to accept. But here we are. At the time of the increases, I understood that
a new location was needed and that was part of the rationale for the increased fees. I would be interested to know what's happening with that. I would look forward with relief to a
new safer, more efficient way of dumping garbage. My husband and I have experienced that huge front loader moving around right next to us, having to back into a slot that was covered
with nails, and almost having a wheelbarrow topple down on me from the pile of rubbish in the adjacent slot. My point being, I find the current situation rather unsafe.
So, if these topics will be discussed at any meetings or presentations in the near future, I would like to attend. I wonder if it would be possible for you to maybe join Mr. Brotherton
at one of the Port Ludlow Village Council meetings. I know we are not part of your district, but the recycling bins that we have had at our convenience are scheduled to be removed at
the end of the year so our community will be seriously affected by the change.
I very much appreciate you, the other commissioners, the staff, law enforcement and Chief Black for your time the other evening as well as for your dedication to serving this county
every day of the week.
In Gratitude,
Marilyn Radkins
