v-1` i)(c)vkziA <br /> AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br /> This Agreement for Professional Services (this Agreement) is entered into by Jefferson County, a <br /> political subdivision and municipal corporation of the State of Washington, having its principal <br /> offices at 1820 Jefferson Street; P.O. Box 1220; Port Townsend, WA 98368 ("County") and <br /> Braun Consulting Group; 1415 2nd Avenue, #909; Seattle, WA 98101 ("Contractor") to provide <br /> professional services in labor relations and human resources. <br /> 1. EFFECTIVE DATE OF CONTRACT <br /> This Agreement shall be effective on January 1, 2019 and terminate on December 31, 2023. <br /> Any extension of services beyond December 31, 2023 shall require a new contract that is <br /> approved and executed in writing by both parties. <br /> 2. SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED <br /> 2.1. In full and fair exchange of the consideration provided herein, Contractor agrees to <br /> provide County the following services in collaboration with the Jefferson County <br /> Prosecuting Attorney and County management: <br /> 2.1.1. Act as the County's designated labor relations representative in labor <br /> negotiations relating to bargaining units, including development of labor strategy <br /> and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements; <br /> 2.1.2. Provide advice in the administration of collective bargaining agreements, labor <br /> relations and employment issues, including assisting in the resolution of <br /> potential and actual grievances and/or labor or employment claims, and <br /> arbitration of grievances; <br /> 2.1.3. Provide assistance in evaluating and executing strategies for providing employee <br /> benefits; <br /> 2.1.4. Serve as an expert resource to County management on human resources, <br /> employment, and labor matters; <br /> 2.1.5. As requested by the County, perform personnel investigations, and prepare <br /> findings; <br /> 2.1.6. In 2019, provide assistance in completing the County's Total Compensation <br /> Study Project, including helping to design and negotiate with bargaining units <br /> compensation adjustments to job classifications. <br /> 2.1.7. As requested by the County, provide "special project" support or work products <br /> that involve substantial extra work, as jointly agreed and that have prior written <br /> authorization by the County, including the County setting an upper limit on cost. <br /> 1of12 <br />
