ory Lacder-, <br /> 50/9 <br /> PI Grhnt Agreement Fort Worden Employee Housing Project ie--r,kin : ,;(kv <br /> CC <br /> akAid <br /> Grant Agreement by and Between <br /> Jefferson County <br /> and <br /> Fort Worden Public Development Authority <br /> For Public Infrastructure Project Funding <br /> Fort Worden Employee Housing <br /> WHEREAS, RCW 82.14.370 authorizes a sales and use tax to provide funding of public <br /> infrastructure projects; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to RCW 82.14.370, Jefferson County has established the Public <br /> Infrastructure Fund and a program for its administration as codified in Jefferson County Code <br /> Chapters 3.28 and 3.36; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Fort Worden Employee Housing Project will renovate and repurpose Fort <br /> Worden's historic barracks (Bldg. 203) as safe, affordable short-term housing for forty or more <br /> employees annually. This will enhance the ability of Jefferson County businesses to recruit new <br /> and retain existing employees. This will also help Fort Worden to reach its goal of becoming an <br /> employer of choice and will improve operational efficiency. This project is important to the <br /> economic development of Fort Worden and all of Jefferson County; and <br /> WHEREAS, on February 22, 2019, the Public Infrastructure Fund Board recommended that the <br /> County approve a 100% grant to the Fort Worden Employee Housing Project for a grant total of <br /> $150,000; and <br /> WHEREAS, on March 4, 2019 the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners approved the <br /> Public Infrastructure Board's recommendation: <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, Jefferson County, a political subdivision of the State of Washington, <br /> hereinafter referred to as "County," and the Fort Worden Public Development Authority, a <br /> municipal corporation in Washington State,hereinafter referred to as "the PDA," in <br /> consideration of the mutual benefits, terms, and conditions hereinafter specified, do hereby agree <br /> as follows: <br /> 1. Grant Commitment. A 100%grant of Public Infrastructure Funds is hereby made to the PDA <br /> for the Fort Worden Employee Housing Project. The approved maximum amount of the <br /> grant shall be $150,000. The grant($150,000) shall be available based on submission of <br /> appropriate invoices pursuant to Section 3. <br /> 2. Project Description, Schedule and Budget. The Fort Worden Employee Housing Project will <br /> renovate and repurpose Fort Worden's historic barracks (Bldg. 203) as safe, affordable short- <br /> term housing for forty or more employees annually.
