Jr. <br />James A; DeLeo <br /> <br />Chai rman <br />Vice-Chairman <br />Member <br />Alternate <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />-' <br /> <br />June 4, 1985 <br /> <br />The July 1984 session of the Jefferson County Board of Equalization was <br />reconvened by order of the Department of Revenue for the sole purpose of <br />'correcting errors on the personal property of Skookum Marine Construction, <br />Parcel #000aI1744. Chairman Dalgleish called the Board to order at 9:00 a.m., <br />with all members present. Assessor Jack Westerman represented the Assessor's <br />,Offi ce. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />BE 84-77-P., Skookum ~1arine Construction, Parcel #000011744-. Jack Hesterman <br />read his written request to the Department of Revenue to reconvene the July <br />Board to correct an assessment on the personal property (crane) of Skookum <br />Marine Construction. This crane was assessed at $85,500. It sold for <br />$54,000. r~r. Bernie Arthur represented Skookum t1arine Construction and <br />was duly sworn in. He stated that his crane had been for sale for two years <br />and finally sold for $54,000. He said he felt the assessment had been too <br />high but'did not know how to prove it before it sold. Mr. Hesterman said <br />he felt the sale price was the best indicator of value and recommended that <br />the value be reduced from $85,500.- to $54,000. It was moved, seconded, and <br />agreed to reduce the valuation as recommended by the Assessor. An order <br />of the Board form was prepared. <br /> <br />The ~uly 1984 Board adjourned. <br /> <br />Followino the hearing, "the Board was called to order b1 Chairman Dalgleish <br />with all "members present for the purpose of r~viewing the manifest errors <br />and taxes uncollectable on the 1985 and prior years tax rolls as mandated by <br />RCll 8~.. 56.390 and 400. Il a ~1i cke 1 son, Chief Deputy in the Treasurers Offi ce <br />and Assessor Jack Hesternan were present.' <br /> <br />. <br />~1s; r.1ickel son stated that there are 597 changes this year. r~ost of'the changes <br />are additions due to Crown Zellerbach selling their property in this area. <br /> <br />Mr: Westerman explained the differences on the form due to the new computer <br />coding. <br /> <br />The Board went over the manifest, then moved, seconded, and agreed to accept <br />the manifest errors as presented.
