Brown calied the meeting to order at the <br />appointed time with Commissioner John L. Pitts and Commissioner Larry <br />W. Dennison and all other Board members present. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes of the July 17, 1985 <br />meeting were approvetl as corrected, by motion of Commissioner Pitts, <br />seconded by Commissioner Dennison. <br /> <br />DIRECTOR OF NURSING REPORT: Gretchen Gephart, D.O.N. re- <br />ported the following activities of the nursing staff for the month of <br />July: <br /> <br />* Jefferson County was the only county in the State to receive <br />acclaim in the''National Poison Prevention Week--Annual Report". <br />for the Health Department's Prevention Week activities. <br />;, An Osteo-poresisSeminar was held -for the Senior Coordinating Council. <br />* A Toothbrushing Session was held for the Tri Area Pre-School children. <br />* Blood Pressure screening was done at Mark It Food and Great Northwest <br />Savings and Loan which found six people with serious hypertension, who <br />were referred to their Doctors. <br />;, A training session on"Anxiety in the Elderly"was given for the <br />caregivers at Kah Tai Care Center. <br />* A WIC Training session provided by the State was attended by staff. <br />The WIC Program calendar year is being changed. <br />* 41 colorectal cancer screenings were done. <br /> <br />HEALTH OFFICER'S REPORT: Dr. Fischnaller reported that he will <br />be attending a meeting ot local Public Health Officials. <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIRECTOR: Randy Durant reported that <br />July was a busy month and outlined the activities as follows: <br /> <br />* 55 food inspections; 25 in the County and 30 in the City. Followup <br />was done on 14 complaints. <br />* Septic Tank Permits increased from 21 to 37 while Site Evaluations <br />decreased from 29 to 14. Short Plats increased from 2 in July of 1984 <br />to 7 in July of 1985. <br />
